“Actually, there was a light bulb moment where the combination of chemical reactions to make the whole process occurred to me…”
Laura Lammers, Founder & CEO, Travertine Technologies
Teacher from Lab to Fixing the Climate
- Colorado is increasingly becoming a hub for innovations that attack climate change. Laura Lammers, a geochemist and UC Berkeley teacher, had an idea for permanently sequestering CO2 in materials like concrete, and figured out the chemistry and processes to make that happen. Travertine was launched with $8.5 million in funding including from international powerhouse cement maker Holcim. This is a great story of a (now) Colorado innovator who when successful, has the potential to massively change our climate trajectory while creating jobs for US citizens.
